Can Babies Hear Sounds During
their Fetal Development?
Baby development in the womb is miraculous! A growing fetus can actually hear sounds from the outside world, and even begin to understand them well enough to retain memories of them after birth. This is according to new research.
The sound-processing parts of their brain become active during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester.
The Best Way to Impact Baby
Development is During Pregnancy

Do pregnant woman’s thoughts influence fetal development and beyond birth?
Prenatal researchers believe there is a link between how pregnant woman think and the baby’s emotions.
At about 28 weeks pregnant, maybe even sooner, women can begin to emotionally bond with their growing baby. This is due to the hormones associated with these emotions that actually cross over into the placenta.
In general mothers with less anxious pregnancies, whose babies were wanted and loved, tended to have emotionally healthy children.
Studies also suggest that the short-term emotional upsets and quickly resolved anxieties that occur in all pregnancies do not harm the baby emotionally.
However, major emotional disturbances and unresolved stresses throughout the pregnancy, make it harder to bond with your unborn baby and can lead to an emotionally troubled child. It’s important to move your emotions up the KEEP ladder and this will in turn give your baby positive vibrational energy.
Parent’s Thoughts and Vibrations
Impact Fetal Development
As mentioned earlier a mother’s emotions can be transferred to the baby. Because of this, constant negative emotions during pregnancy can have a damaging impact on fetal development.
The baby absorbs negative emotions like anger, stress or frustration. These and other negative emotions are what begins to shape the baby’s personality. When these emotions are experienced, remember to immediately shift to a higher vibration.
During pregnancy Dad also has a role in fetal development. Baby development is affected by the father’s feelings toward the mother and the child. That’s because the mother picks up on these vibrations and the fetus absorbs this energy. This vibrational energy plays a major roles in the child’s personality development.
A child’s emotional health is being shaped before it’s even born. Part of that shaping is determined by how the parents feel about life in general and each other.
We know a variety of factors can affect a baby’s physical health in the womb including;
- Drug abuse
- Exposure to toxins
- Other unhealthy environmental factors
So, it only makes sense that negative emotions and the hormones they produce will also have a negative impact on fetal development and beyond.

Fetus Development and Positive
Parenting Go Hand in Hand
It’s no surprise that sonograms taken while parents argue show the baby’s entire body flinching in agitation. Ultrasounds show that babies can smile, frown and scowl in the womb!
Imagine the damage caused by months of feeding this negative energy to a fetus.
Studies show a bad relationship between parents significantly increases the child’s risk of psychological and physical damage.
It’s important to begin practicing positive parenting before the baby is born. This will create an environment of love and positivity during pregnancy. The baby will absorb this energy during pregnancy and feel right at home after birth.
While, it’s tough to always know what to expect when expecting; it’s refreshing to know that you can actually begin empowering your child before it’s even born!
